Kolonien Oct 5 Ripton Coffee House
Please join us for an evening at The Riopton Community Coffee House with Swedish folk artists Kolonien!
A family band, their rich four-part vocal harmonies wrap around activist lyrics, backed by guitars, violin, trumpet and tribal percussion. The sound is playful, creative and clear as a bell. Since forming nearly a decade ago, Kolonien has toured the globe, picking up new sounds along the way. You can hear the influence of time spent in Tanzania, Cyprus, Israel/Palestine, the British Isles and all of Europe. They’ve been named Sweden’s “Best Young Folk Act” and “Best Upcoming Act of the Year.
“Kolonien creates their own world on the folk music map. A generous world that is both playful and serious. They want their music to go beyond the usual stories.” – Jury Swedish Folk & World Music Awards
